Mid Challenge Inspiration–Paper Piecing

There is still one more week to get in on the challenge over at the Clear It Out Challenge Blog.  If you want to read all the details on the current challenge please click here.  In the meantime, here’s a little inspiration to get you started.

The cute cupcake on my card is designed by Digi Darla and you can find it here.  If you hurry over there you will find it on sale for half price … only $1.00!!

I used my copics to color the cupcake:

  • Cupcake Wrapper – E13/37
  • Cupcake Icing – V12/15/17
  • Candy Cane – BG000/01/02
  • Shadow - W0

I used the paper piecing technique on the P-A-R-T-Y banner.   I used 2 different designer papers for this.  They are from Michaels Recollections paper pads ‘Sweet Flora’ and ‘Bold Basics’.

The red & white striped paper on the card is also from the ‘Sweet Flora’ paper pad.  The mat behind it is from American Crafts but I’m not sure which paper pad because it was a giveaway prize and it wasn’t part of a pad.

Here is a peek at the inside.  The die cut (along with the one on the front) is a ‘Me and My Big Ideas’ birthday die cut.
