Octopi’d Heart

Hello there, crafty friends!  I’m here today to share another card using this cute Sunsational Stamps digi, from the Ocean Critters stamp set.

OctopydHeart-May29-ocm

I really love this card.  I think it is going to be an all-time favorite of mine. I love the Aqua Striped Paper (great for an Ocean themed card) against the black, with the red accents to add some POP.   This card was made using digital paper found on the Pixel Scrapper site. If you have never visited Pixel Scrapper you should!  Signing up is free and you will get 5 FREE downloads per day.  It’s a great way to build your digital paper collection!

I printed this cute little Octopus from the set and colored him with Copics.  The hearts border was made with my Silhouette Cameo.  I chose 2 heart shapes and colored one with a background pattern and one with a solid color. I lined them up across a 5-inch rectangle that I had drawn and then used my spacing tool to make sure they were spaced evenly across the rectangle.  I printed this onto some white cardstock and adhered it to a black piece of cardstock.  The sentiment was typed into my Silhouette Cameo software and printed onto a piece of white cardstock which I also matted with some black cardstock.  With the leftover black cardstock I cut out a circle and a flag.  I layered another circle cut from some digital background paper on top of the black circle.  Once everything was cut, I adhered all the pieces onto a piece of 110 lb. white cardstock cut to 5.5-inches wide X 4.25-inches high.

I hope you love my card as much as I do!

And speaking of winners, the lucky hopper from last month is Golden Goddess Designs; picked by Random Name Picker. Congratulations! Please get in touch with last month’s sponsor, Wilma Payne at wpayne@email.com, by May 26th to claim your prize.

Since I’m the first stop in this hop, let’s get to hopping!

For my first card, I used a rubber stamp from Magnolia Stamps called Tilda With Violin.  I stamped her onto watercolor paper and used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color her in.  Watch for a follow-up this week when I’ll give you a few tips and tricks on how I created this card.

My second card is done using the Bokeh technique.  The stamp is from a Gerda Steiner set called “Playful Kittens”.  Aren’t they the cutest!  I’ll post a follow-up on my blog this week to walk you through the technique and tell you more about my card.

My last card today is using a My Favorite Things stamp set called “Adorable Elephants”.   Once again, there will be a follow-up on my blog this week with more details on the card below so make sure you come back.

No Disguising Dad

Hi there crafty friends, I’m here to share my Monday make with you.  I had a little help and used Lori Whitlock’s Circle Flip Swing card file for the Silhouette Cameo to make today’s card.  I used the faces from the King Of The Grill set by Lisa @ Sunsational Stamps.

Triple Flip Fold

It may look simple but this card gave me a run for my money trying to figure out how to fold it, lol.  Once I figured that out, I printed the faces and cut them each into a small circle to fit. I cut 3 more larger circles out to layer behind the faces.  I used my PrismaColor Markers and a couple of Copics to color the faces.  I cut 3 more small circles out of white cardstock and 3 more larger circles to layer behind them.  Then I laid all of those pieces aside for the time being.

Tripe Flip Fold 2

I used the template from the card file to cut two pieces of cardstock for the front and inside panel of my card. I used a PrismaColor Marker to run along the edge of the cardstock to give it some definition.  Then I adhered it to the card front with some Tombo Multi Mono Liquid Glue.  I cut another piece of white cardstock, used the chisel tip of my Prismacolor Marker to draw lines up and down it until it was completely covered, then adhered it to the inside.  I mean, seriously folks, what else is one to do with the chisel tip end of a marker? I had to figure out some way to put it to good use.

The final step was to attach the faces to the front and the sentiments to the inside.  I added a piece of washi tape and called it done!

Hoppy Mother’s Day

Hello, crafty friends!  I’m here today to share another card using this cute Sunsational Stamps digi, from the “Hoppy” set.
  Hoppy Mothers Day-Apr 17-ocm_SS1
With Mother’s Day being just a couple of weeks away, I thought this little fella would make a cute card.  I printed the bunny and the hearts onto a piece of white cardstock and then ran it through my Cameo to cut each of the images out.  I wanted to show him holding a heart so I printed the stamp twice, cut the paws off the one bunny and set them aside.  I used my Copics and colored the bunny with W-3 and W-4 and added a little R21 to the cheeks and ears.  I used R27 for the hearts.  Once everything was colored I glued the big heart onto the first bunny so that it was positioned on top of the paws.  Then I placed a couple of 1/8-inch foam dimensional dots on the back of the second set of paws and layered them over top of the paws on the first bunny.  I used the dimensional dots to pop up the bunny and added a few more hearts beside it.

All designer papers used were digital and printed on white cardstock and then cut to size.

That’s it for me today.   Stop by the Sunsational Stamps Store and check out all the great stamps Lisa has available.  And don’t forget to visit the Facebook Fan page and the Sunsational Stamps blog for some fabulous inspiration from the other amazing Design Team members.

See you again in a couple of weeks when I will be back to share some more great stamps!
