April Showers Blog Hop…

Welcome to the

12647127_10208627682839710_59596683727964291_n

We're so glad you are hopping with us today.  We've got all kinds of great baby and bridal shower related crafts and ideas for you.  You should have arrived here from Sarah’s blog, but, if you just stopped by for a visit, be sure to hop over to Theresa's blog to get started so you don’t miss any of the great projects.

My first card was designed by me and cut on my Cricut.  I wanted to try a cut-out card so I found a graphic of a bird cage and did a little node editing to get the outcome below.  I added a piece of designer paper behind the cut-out to pretty it up a little.  I used my Cricut pen to write the sentiment directly onto the card.  I have a niece who is getting married in July and I think this card will be great for her upcoming bridal shower in May.

My next card was fun to put together.  I cut out my cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug to give it some texture and then I adhered that to my base layer.  I used my Cricut to cut out the towel bar, towels, hearts, and frilly edges for the towels.  Once again, I used the Cricut to write the monogram for the towels.  I put it all together and added some ribbon and a little sentiment to finish it off.

I wanted to make a couple more cards but I ran out of time.  I may still spend a little time in my craft dungeon this weekend and add another card or two to this post if I’m able.

My first card is fairly simple.  I used my Cricut Explore to cut out the honey comb shapes on a piece of patterned paper.  All of the papers used for this card are digital and printed on my HP Printer.  The sentiment is hard to read but it says, “Just buzzin’ in to say hope you have a Happy Birthday”.  I added a few buzzing bees to the card to complete it.

My second card was also created using digital papers.  I also cut the honeycomb shapes with my Cricut Explore and used the inlaid technique from the last hop to add the black border around them.  I finished it off by adding some buzzing bees and a sentiment to the inside of the middle honeycomb.

The last card is doing double duty.  I created it for my Shaker Hop (also today) but used a bee theme to go with this hop. I used some new Color Splash Resist Paper and Watercolor Crayons that I added to my stash this month.  I still have a lot of work to do figuring out how to use these items but I think it turned out fairly well.  I cut the mason jar shape with my Cricut Explore and  added some dripping honey and a lid (both also cut with the Explore).  Added the cute little bee and sentiment and this card was finished.

For my first card, I decided to make use of some new Color Splash Resist Paper and Watercolor Crayons that I added to my stash this month.  I still have a lot of work to do figuring out how to use these items but I think it turned out fairly well.  I cut the mason jar shape with my Cricut Explore and  added some dripping honey and a lid (both also cut with the Explore).  Added the cute little bee and sentiment and this card was finished.

Next, I made this triple circle shaker card.  I added sequins to each of the circles and a few on the face of the card for decoration.

My last card was kind of a challenge.  I took a digital stamp of a mouse with an umbrella and cut out the top piece of the umbrella where I added the sequins to symbolize some rain.   I used some Tim Holtz distress ink to sponge on the sky, some clouds, and the grass.  I colored the mouse with some copics.  I added the bow and a sentiment to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today.  Up next is the wonderful and talented Lisa.
