10-Minute Craft–Refrigerator Note Holder

Hi there crafty friends!  Today I wanted to share with you a little craft I made for my refrigerator.  It holds my appointment cards and any other notes that I don’t want to lose.  It only takes a few minutes to make.  It’s super cute and perfect if you need a last-minute item to add to any gift!

I used a digital image from Jen’s Koala T Crafts store.  I colored my koala digitally but you can color with any markers, pencil crayons, or medium of your choice.  You can also purchase an already colored version and speed up the process.  I used my digital imaging software to add the sign and to take a “bite” out of the cookie.  I cut him out with my Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine.

Materials Needed:

  • 1 digital image or stamped image of your choice
  • 1 clothespin
  • 1 roll of washi tape
  • 1 magnet
  • a Glue Gun and Glue Stick

Here’s how I did it:

Koala T Clothespin Step-By-Step1

First thing you need is a clothespin.

Carefully take the clothespin apart and lay your pieces aside.

Grab your washi tape and begin rolling it tightly around one of the wooden pieces.  Be careful not to pull too hard so your tape doesn’t break.  Smooth the edges down as you go.

Use an embossing tool or a pencil and gently rub it over the tape to push it down into the dips in the clothespin and smooth it out.

Once you are finished wrapping the first wooden piece, lay it aside and do the same thing with the second piece.

When both pieces are wrapped, carefully put the clothespin back together making sure not to rip the tape as you do so.

I cut a piece of  magnet from a roll I had on hand and used my glue gun to add  a strip of hot glue down the middle.  You can also use an individual magnet if it’s not too heavy.

I adhered the magnetic piece to one side of my clothespin and glued my colored digi to the other side to complete my project!

Take a look at it in action! (and now that you all know that I have a dentist appointment on February 6th @ 3:45pm., don’t forget to remind me, lol)

Koala T Magnet

I had another colored (by me) koala digi left over from a previous project so I decided to glue a magnet to the back of it for my fridge as well.

That’s it for my 10-minute project!  I hope you enjoyed it.  If you have some time, please take a minute to visit Jen’s store and check out all her fabulous digi stamps among lots of other fun products as well.  You can also find Jen on YouTube where she posts tutorials that will teach you how to make all kinds of fun stuff.  Live Video tutorials on Thursdays from 6pm – 7pm CST and Sundays from 2pm to 3pm CST each week.
